Steal This Playlist

"The dictatorship of the bureaucratic economy cannot leave the exploited masses any significant margin of choice because it has had to make all the choices itself, and because any choice made independently of it, even the most trivial – concerning food, say, or music – amounts to a declaration of war to the death on the bureaucracy. This dictatorship must therefore be attended by permanent violence."

-Guy Debord (La societe du Spectacle)

Alright, so here's the deal.

Once every month from now on [in a while] I will be uploading a fifteen track playlist along with a PDF of a work of philosophy that in some way either relates (albeit sometimes only tangentially) to music in general or to the content of the songs in each playlist. These playlists will be available to download through Google Documents (it's open to the public, so you don't need to have a Google account to download the .zip file) and will stay up (hopefully) indefinitely.

Enjoy and let me know if you have any other ideas that would help to spread the cause of good philosophy, art, and lateral education throughout the internet.
